Wedding in Antalya & Turkish Riviera

Turkey

Why choose Antalya & Turkish Riviera for your wedding?

Antalya and the Turkish Riviera stretch along Turkey's Mediterranean coast - from Kemer in the west to Alanya in the east - framed by the Taurus mountains rising straight behind the sea. The region is one of Turkey's busiest holiday coasts, and its large resorts are used to hosting weddings for international couples, often as all-inclusive packages.

Antalya Airport (AYT) is the gateway, with the most routes in the summer season. Outdoor wedding season runs spring to autumn; July and August are too hot for daytime ceremonies, so late spring and early autumn are the most comfortable months, with the sea warm enough to swim. Winter is mild, and some resorts host weddings year-round, but many beach venues close.

Weddings in Antalya & Turkish Riviera - style, venues and atmosphere

The Turkish Riviera offers three kinds of wedding. Large resort weddings are the most familiar: the resort zone of Belek, east of Antalya, has big hotels with beaches, gardens and wedding packages that bundle the ceremony, dinner, music and flowers. Ask for an itemised list of what a package includes, the minimum guest count and what costs extra.

The second is boutique hotels in Antalya's old town, Kaleiçi, where restored Ottoman houses sit inside the old walls above the harbour. They suit a smaller party and a dinner with a view over the old port.

The third is private villa weddings further west in Kalkan or Kaş - hillside towns with white houses, bougainvillea and pools looking over the sea. Ask how many guests a villa may host for an event, as opposed to how many it sleeps.

Legal or symbolic. A legal wedding in Turkey is performed by the marriage office of the municipality (evlendirme memurluğu). Ask the office where you want to marry for its current document list; foreign nationals need proof that they are free to marry, legalised in their own country. The alternative is to marry legally at home and hold a symbolic ceremony on the coast. Symbolic or legal wedding abroad explains the difference. Too few couples have sent us a brief for this coast to quote a budget figure; ask resorts for written quotes for your date.

Insider tips for Antalya & Turkish Riviera

  • Resort wedding packages vary widely in what they include; ask for an itemised list before signing and compare packages on the same date and guest count.
  • Antalya’s old town, Kaleiçi, makes a good pre-wedding outing for guests staying at a resort along the coast.
  • Ask the resort whether the beach area for the ceremony is private to the hotel; a public beach may need permission from the municipality.
  • For Kalkan and Kaş, compare flights into Dalaman as well as Antalya; depending on where you stay, Dalaman may be the shorter drive.
  • A Turkish meze dinner makes a relaxed welcome evening the night before the wedding.
