Legal Wedding

The Faroe Islands fall under Danish law. The process is the same as in Denmark and is relatively simple for Nordic citizens. Contact the municipality (kommuna) at least four weeks ahead.

Best Time

June to August brings the longest daylight, over 20 hours, and the mildest weather at 10-15 degrees. Expect rain and wind all the same.

Getting there

Direct flights from Copenhagen in two hours with Atlantic Airways, and from the rest of Europe with a change in Copenhagen. The Smyril Line ferry from Denmark takes 36 hours but is an experience in itself.

Weather

Unpredictable weather is part of the charm. Always keep an indoor plan B. July is statistically the driest month.
