Vietnam
Da Nang is Vietnam's fastest-growing coastal city: modern, cosmopolitan, with 30 km of white sand along the East Sea. Here you find five-star resorts in a row along My Khe beach, the Marble Mountains as a dramatic backdrop and an airport with direct connections to most of Asia. For couples who want Vietnam's price and authenticity but with world-class beach-and-resort infrastructure, Da Nang is the smartest option. It also pairs easily with Hoi An (30 minutes) for a two-location celebration.
Travel time from London is 14-16 hours via Doha, Singapore or Bangkok, the same as Hoi An. Visa-free 45 days. Da Nang remains substantially cheaper than Phuket or Bali at 40-50% off comparable resort standard.
Da Nang weddings are resort-centred and dramatic. InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, Hyatt Regency Danang, Naman Retreat and Furama Resort are the leading players. InterContinental, designed by Bill Bensley, is spectacular with its terraced architecture in the jungle on the Son Tra peninsula - wedding packages from around EUR 22,000 for 20 guests. Hyatt Regency Danang has a more classic beach-resort feel with 200 metres of beachfront, from EUR 13,000.
Da Nang's distinctive draw is Ba Na Hills and the Golden Bridge, the iconic yellow bridge held up by two giant stone hands, opened in 2018. It is one of the world's most photographed sites and can be used for wedding photography (cable car up, entry around EUR 60 per person). Local coordinators such as Twins Wedding and Da Nang Weddings arrange private photo shoots there at 6:30 am before the tourists arrive.
Seasons follow Hoi An: February to May is the dry season, June to August hot and humid, September to November typhoon risk, December to January cool and rainy by central Vietnam standards (18-22C). Book March to May for optimal weather. Legal marriage requires the same apostille process as in Hoi An; symbolic is the standard.
Couples wanting beach, luxury and accessibility
60 000 - 180 000 kr
Son Tra peninsula spectacular. InterContinental Danang popular for weddings.
We recommend Da Nang for couples who want resort comfort, modern infrastructure and access to Hoi An's charm. 20-60 guests works perfectly. March to May is optimal. InterContinental for the wow factor, Hyatt Regency for value. Add a day in Hoi An for the lantern release and one at Ba Na Hills for Golden Bridge photos.
