Ibiza is not just the club island - the quieter northern half (Santa Gertrudis, Sant Carles, Sant Joan) has become a wedding destination in its own right. The aesthetic is relaxed and natural: white fincas, dry-stone walls, olive and carob trees, and long tables outdoors.
The club scene is concentrated in the south and west (Playa d'en Bossa, Sant Antoni), and couples who want a calmer setting usually look to the north or to the quieter coves. Northern Ibiza is finca territory: private estates with pools, gardens and space for a long dinner outdoors. Ask any finca what is included, whether catering is in-house or brought in, and when music has to stop.
For a beach setting, several beach clubs and restaurants host wedding parties. A sunset ceremony on the west coast is a classic picture, but public beaches and viewpoints are shared with other visitors, so ask a local planner what permission is needed before you build the day around one.
Stylistically, Ibizan weddings lean towards natural materials: linen, dried palm, candles and plenty of greenery. A DJ based on the island knows the local sound and the venues' rules. The catering style is often family-style - long tables, shared plates, paella.

A civil wedding in Spain starts with a marriage file (expediente) handled by the civil registry of the place where one of you is domiciled, and if you live abroad the file may be handled by a Spanish consulate, according to the Spanish government's page on marriage. The season is May to October, with July and August the busiest and most expensive months for accommodation. May, June and September are calmer. Consider renting a large villa for close family instead of hotel rooms - weddings feel more social when everyone stays together.

- Choose a planner who works on Ibiza regularly; they know which beaches and viewpoints need permission and which venues allow late music.
- Ask your finca whether catering is in-house or brought in, and get the menu and service costs in writing.
- A famous public sunset spot is shared with other visitors; a private finca terrace with a western view gives you the sunset without the crowd.
- Skip Sant Antoni as a guest base if you want calm nights: Santa Eulària or the north are quieter.
- Book guest transport for the wedding night in advance; do not rely on finding a taxi late at night in high season.
