Greece
Mykonos is the glamour island of the Cyclades and the obvious Greek choice for couples who want parties, beach club energy and DJ sets until 4am. Europeans, Americans and Middle Eastern couples all marry here in roughly equal numbers, and the price level reflects it: Mykonos is the most expensive Greek island.
The style is polished bohemian - white walls, bougainvillea, but with a Cavalli edge and beach club culture always around the corner. Budget EUR 40,000 to 90,000 for 50 guests, and it is not unusual for weddings to run past EUR 150,000 once beach clubs and private transfer are factored in. Direct flights from London and Paris in summer.
Mykonos has two main venue categories. Beach clubs like Nammos, Scorpios, Principote and Alemagou host weddings day and night with full infrastructure - DJ, dance floor, signature drinks. Expect a minimum spend of EUR 400 to 600 per guest at the major clubs, food and drink included.
Private villas are the alternative. The north and west sides of the island have more than 100 luxury villas available for weddings, often with 6 to 10 bedrooms, an infinity pool and sea views. Aleomandra, Houlakia and Agios Lazaros are the hotspots. A wedding villa in peak season runs EUR 10,000 to 25,000 per week.
Hotel weddings at Belvedere, Cavo Tagoo, Bill & Coo and Santa Marina offer the middle path: terrace ceremony, dinner on site, guests sleep where they celebrate. Recommended for weddings above 60 guests where logistics start to bite.
Civil weddings work through the Mykonos municipality. The season is short and intense: May to October, with June through September as peak. July and August are hottest in both temperature and price - a room at Cavo Tagoo can hit EUR 2,500 a night. Early June and early October are the value plays.
Couples who want party and glamour
140 000 - 400 000
Boka mellan maj-juni för lägre priser. Juli-augusti är extremt dyrt och fullt av festande turister.
We recommend Mykonos for couples who want a festival-style wedding with 40 to 80 guests, high production value and an evening energy no other Greek island can match. This is not the budget option - expect double the prices of mainland Greece.
