Turkey
Antalya and the Turkish Riviera stretch 600 km along the Mediterranean - from Kemer in the west to Alanya in the east - framed by the Taurus mountains plunging straight into blue sea. The region is Turkey's most visited destination with 16 million annual tourists and over the past decade has established itself as one of the Mediterranean's largest wedding destinations for international couples, thanks to all-inclusive resorts that specialise in package weddings at a fraction of Italian or French prices.
From London Gatwick, direct flights to Antalya (AYT) take 4 hours with Turkish Airlines, Pegasus and easyJet; from Frankfurt 3 hours; from New York via Istanbul around 14 hours. Outdoor wedding season runs May to October; July and August (32-38°C) are not recommended for daytime ceremonies. May and September are optimal (24-28°C, sea temperature 22-26°C). June daylight is 14h 30min. Winter (December-February) is mild (12-18°C) and supports resort weddings, but many beach venues close.
The Turkish Riviera offers three tiers of wedding concept. All-inclusive mega-resort weddings with 200+ guests are the most common: Maxx Royal Belek, Regnum Carya, Calista Luxury Resort and Susesi Luxury Resort in the Belek zone 30 km east of Antalya. These offer wedding packages from EUR 8,000 (50 guests, beach ceremony, dinner, sound, flowers) to EUR 35,000+ for premium packages with private beach and dedicated tent. Budget EUR 8,500-37,000 for a wedding package including 30 guests across 4 nights - extraordinary value.
The second tier is boutique resorts on the Lycian coast. Antalya old town (Kaleiçi) has Tuvana Hotel and Alp Pasa Hotel - restored Ottoman mansions with 25-40 rooms (EUR 180-420 per night). Rixos Premium Tekirova and Adam & Eve Hotel are adults-only (15+) options for couples wanting a child-free atmosphere.
The third tier is private villa weddings in Kalkan or Kaş to the west - mountainside villages with white houses, bougainvillea and private pools with sea views. Turkey Homes and Mavi Tatil rent villas from EUR 800 per night (8 people) up to EUR 4,500 per night (20 people). Legal Turkish weddings need 7 days' notice plus translated documents; symbolic ceremonies are more common. Budget EUR 14,000-55,000 in total.
